I´m back  for a while . Just checking my friends page . I´m hoping all of you be fine , healthy and safe.
This season I´m very busy at work , so I´ll be missing until the first days of November  , or so I think . I´m just wishing to survive , hahaha

How time flies ! I can´t believe it , but eight years have passed since 9/11 attacks  ... It´s a weird feeling because  I can remember exactly all the things I did or felt that awful day , but calendar doesn´t lie . My memories and feelings are as fresh as if  it would happened only yesterday : incredulity , sorrow , anger, horror , bitter tears ...

Remember could be a hard and  painful thing , but it´s necessary don ´t forget what happened that terrible day. Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said  "I think we are going to have to remember September 11th in its reality, much the same way as we have to remember other horrific events in our history, because somehow I think it pushes the human consciousness toward finding ways to avoid this in the future." 
To carry on with our lives doesn't mean we must live like the past never happened. Do not let the victims be forgotten in history.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the survivors, their families and with all those anonimous heroes who did their best .

I´m not a fat woman , but either a thin woman . I´m real , and simply have curves as most of you , even men , have .  It makes me crazy that fashion designers think on unhealthy or unrealistic women to do their clothes designs. 

We all have the right of being considered as ordinary people , not as walking oddness ! Besides , we have the right of find nice clothes  on common sizes . Many times I find pretty clothes but too tiny for me and it´s very frustrating !

I wonder what thinks about this matter Ms. Ann Wintour from Vogue ...

Recently , I´ve read a post from jhava and this post reminded me to this famous quote from Carson McCullers´s "The Ballad of the Sad Cafe" :

Sorry for my long absence , but I´m on holiday and I won´t be near to a computer until August 10th . Just now ,  I´m back to home for some few hours to resolve some issues  .

I always have felt a deep attraction to those people that , in extreme situations , did the right thing just because it was the right thing, even risking his own life : Irena Sendler  ,  Oskar Schindler, Angel Sanz-Briz , Giorgio Perlasca  ... Yes, you can tell , and you´d be right , all of them are related to the Holocaust . But , did the Mankind know something as monstrous as the Holocaust ? 
As Albert Einstein said " The world is a dangerous place to live ; not because of the people who are evil , but because the people who don´t do anything about it. " Thank God , there is always someone who doesn´t look the other way

Although is a belated honor , I´m glad at last comes true .

Israel's Holocaust memorial said it was honoring a German officer whose rescue of Polish Jewish musician Wladislaw Szpilman is documented by Roman Polanski's 2002 Hollywood film "The Pianist."
The Yad Vashem museum said it had decided to honor Hosenfeld, played in the movie by the German-born actor Thomas Kretschmann, after verifying that he had no hand in war crimes despite a military role in the occupation of Warsaw.

Captain Wilm Hosenfeld is one of the few German World War II  soldiers to win the title of "Righteous among the Nations," among some 22,000 people honored for helping Jews avoid death in the Nazi Holocaust, in which 6 million perished.

I found a link to a petition for a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare to be put forward at the United Nations.
Their goal is to seek 10 million signatures to raise awareness that animals matter, that they can feel pain and can suffer, and that people do care about their welfare and that we have a responsibility to put an end to cruelty towards animals.

Almost 2 million of signatures have already been collected but it's a long road to 10 million ; so , every signature counts!!

The 7 July 2005 London bombings (also known as the 7/7 bombings) were a series of coordinated suicide bomb attacks on London's public transport system during the morning rush hour. The suicide bombings were carried out by British Muslims who were motivated by Britain's involvement in the Iraq War.

At 08:50, three bombs exploded within fifty seconds of each other on three London Underground trains. A fourth bomb exploded on a bus nearly an hour later at 09:47 in Tavistock Square. The bombings killed 52 people and the four suicide bombers, injured 700, and caused disruption of the city's transport system (severely for the first day) and the country's mobile telecommunications infrastructure. The series of suicide bomb explosions constituted the largest and deadliest terrorist attack on London's transit system in history.

As 11 March 2004 Madrid train bombings , and  NY 11 September 2001, it was a direct attack to Democracy and Occident´s  heart . The terrorists reasons are not important : Nothing, Nothing Justifies Terrorism !  

We cannot live in fear , but we can´t either forget those who died or were injured and their families . Oblivion is  a betrayal and that ´s another crime against them.  We have to show how strong we are and not let terrorists win. The bombings have brought the people of London , Madrid and New York  closer to each other. There is a big feeling of togetherness, knowing we are all fighting this together . And together we´ll win !

                   

 

 

Every year thousands and thousands of pets are abandoned .  When summer holidays starts many families  move away from their residences and leave their pet behind. They are domestic animals who are not equipped to survive on their own. Many are fertile, and continue to breed and create more homeless animals. But most of them , on their own, starve or freeze to death, are knocked down by cars ,  are killed by wild animals, or used by some people as "target practice." At best,  they will be put to sleep in a dog pound.

 Is not only against the Law , but elementary ethics. 

Is beyond my comprehension how someone can do this to a living being , but it happens , as animal abuse , every day .

At Spain , Affinity Foundation  launched its 1st campaign  in 1988 . The campaign slogan can´t be clearer :

"He would never do that"
